The New England Patriots are preparing for the regular season now that the preseason is over. The Washington Commanders game on Sunday night, the team’s last preseason game, gave insight into both its strengths and faults. Some players were really good, but others had trouble getting going. - Backup running backs: Kevin Harris and JaMychal Hasty showed off their agility and tenacity with strong touchdown runs. These two are putting up a good fight for a roster berth as the race for the backup running back spot heats up.
- Joe Giles-Harris and Christian Elliss demonstrated their defensive abilities as backup linebackers. Their influence on the field was demonstrated by Elliss’s team-high number of tackles and Giles-Harris’s prompt interception. Their play in the preseason points to a potentially larger role for them.
